Meet the Family

Alison Powers
Alison grew up on a family farm in rural town Elkton located in Rockingham County, Virginia. Her passion for horses and all other animals started at a very young age and she knew the farm life would always be something she would pursue. The farm and cottage now allows her to share the farm life experience with others!
Doug Powers
As a child, Doug spent many hours in a tractor with his grandparents on their farm in Grottoes, VA. His grandfather's lap is where he learned about cattle, making hay, and driving equipment. Doug knew he would always farm- it was part of him and his family history. Purchasing Hidden Valley Farm in 2017 has allowed Doug to expand his hay and cattle production into a successful business and continue a lifestyle he is passionate for.

Cattle Sales

At Hidden Valley Farm, our bread and butter is our large herd of well maintained, quality Angus cattle that is the heart of our cattle breeding operation.  As a fourth generation farmer, we specialize in breeding, background feeding and finishing your calf crop out of our facilities.

We also have a small fold of midsize Scottish Highland cattle that is a favorite among many!  Since there are now many different sizes from cross breeding, it's important to have a knowledgeable farm that knows about this specific breed, which Alison is.
