Happy horses are healthy horses! While your horse is at Hidden Valley Farm, whether for training or boarding, your horse will receive individualized care.

Lessons

For those that are interested in learning the basics of cow work on horse back, just bring your boots! We offer private, 1 hour lessons for $60 on one of our seasoned cow horses.

All riders must sign waivers and helmets are required for riders under the age of 18.

Rate: $60.00/hour

Training

Each horse is an individual and training will not be rushed to fit a time line. We are committed to training at the pace that best fits your horse's needs to create a safe and sane riding partner with a solid training foundation.

Current negative coggins is required. Correcting undesirable behavior or handling dangerous horses may increase monthly training rate.

Starting under saddle requires a 60 day minimum.

Rate: $850/30 days-board included

Consignment

Horses in our consignment program are ridden 5 days a week and marketed towards an audience that best fits the horse's discipline and training level. We handle all media, marketing and showings.

We match horses' with appropriate riders with the intention of finding long term homes.

Consignments are considered on a case by case situation with several options for helping you and your horse find the perfect solution.

From a young age Doug was frequently in the hay fields-whether he was riding in the tractor while mowing hay with his grandfather or hand stacking bales in the barn, he has always been involved in the process.

With this long time passion, his expertise can be see in the hay he produces and sells in Virginia and along the East Coast.

He grows several types of hay which can also be blended together for the perfect hay for your horse's needs.
